Imprivata Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) evaluates identity-related signals during authentication and returns a risk assessment. VPAM Risk-Based Authentication (RBA) uses this assessment to determine when to require additional verification.
How RBA works in VPAM
During login, VPAM sends authentication context to ITDR for evaluation. If ITDR assesses the login attempt as high risk, RBA prompts the user for an additional multi-factor authentication (MFA) challenge before access is granted.
VPAM supports the following MFA challenge methods:
