Lifecycle for Omnissa Current Releases
The lifecycle below applies to the Omnissa Current Releases branch for:
-
Omnissa Horizon 8.x (formerly VMware Horizon)
-
Omnissa Horizon 7.x
-
Omnissa Horizon 6.x
-
All Omnissa Horizon clients for Windows and Linux supported by Omnissa Horizon 6.x, 7.x, and 8.x.
Early Adoption
At the time of General Availability (GA), the current Omnissa Horizon release (N) will be marked as Early Adoption status for the current shipping version of Enterprise Access Management for SSO and MFA (formerly OneSign and Confirm ID). Releases notated as Early Adoption are eligible for support but not for maintenance. Issues reported while the Omnissa Horizon release is in Early Adoption status and that are exclusive to the Horizon release will be considered for resolution in subsequent Enterprise Access Management releases once the release has moved to Recommended status.
Recommended
Within 60 days of GA, Imprivata targets to move the current Omnissa Horizon release (N) to Recommended status on the current shipping version, and all subsequent versions, of Enterprise Access Management. In some cases, it may not be possible to qualify the release against a currently shipping Enterprise Access Management release, and in these cases, support will be declared in a subsequent release. Releases notated as Recommended are eligible for both support and maintenance.
Transitional
When an Omnissa Horizon release has become the fourth oldest release (N-3, N-4, etc.), it will be moved to the Transitional status. Releases notated as Transitional are eligible for both support and maintenance.
Retired
When the current Omnissa Horizon release branch (for example, Omnissa Horizon 6.x or 7.x) reaches the end of general support by Omnissa, it will be moved to the Retired status. Releases notated as Retired are eligible for support only.
-
For purposes of clarification, the dates and/or timelines referenced herein are merely targets and the failure to reach said dates and/or timelines, for any reason, will impose no liability or penalties on Imprivata.
-
Due to dependencies on Thin and Zero clients to adopt the latest Omnissa Horizon client for Linux, there may be some situations beyond the control of Imprivata where Recommended status is not achieved within the first 60 days of release.
