New Features

Template Migration

Patient Access uses Paravision’s current-generation facial recognition model for all patients. Existing enrolled biometric templates are automatically migrated to the new model. The updated model helps improve patient matching at registration and point of care, reducing failed matches, minimizing manual identity verification, and supporting faster registrar workflows.

Support for Omnissa Horizon Environments

Patient Access is now qualified for use in Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon View) virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.

Patient Access Interface Improvements

This release includes updates to the Patient Access user interface components. These changes improve the consistency of validation messages and controls across the Admin console and other Patient Access components.

Epic Break the Glass Support

Patient Access can now enroll and verify patients whose records are marked as restricted in Epic by supporting the Break the Glass protocol.

This ensures registrars can reliably access restricted records, backed by a complete audit trail. It enables customers to enroll a wider population while staying audit-ready for compliance reviews.

Customers must request an upgrade to the new version of the Patient Access app in Epic’s Showroom.

Epic Upgrade Support

This release updates the Epic 26.04 integration DLL, which is available via server-side deployment. This allows customers to upgrade to Epic 26.04 and continue using Patient Access without interruption.

Self-Service Epic MyChart Account Recovery

Patients can now recover access to their Epic MyChart account through Imprivata Patient Access without contacting the help desk. Enrolled patients verify with a quick selfie matched against their existing Patient Access enrollment, while patients new to Patient Access complete identity proofing with a government-issued ID and a selfie. The recovery workflow launches from the "powered by Imprivata" button on the MyChart sign-in page and is available in English and Spanish.

Reuse Identity Photo for Enrollment

Patient Access now allows registrars to reuse the photo captured during a failed identification attempt for enrollment when the selected patient record’s DOB matches and the photo meets enrollment quality requirements.

This reduces duplicate photo capture by allowing patients to pose once while helping registrars move more efficiently from identification to demographic search and enrollment.

Registrar Client User Interface Notification Area for What's New

The Registrar Client user interface now includes a notification area that allows registrars to be informed about changes. Registrars click the bell icon in the interface to review feature announcements.

Epic Welcome Kiosk Accepts 2-Digit Values for Birth Year

The Epic Welcome kiosk now accepts 2-digit values for a patient's birth year.

Removed the Done Screen from the Registrar Client User Interface

This release removes the Done screen from the Registrar Client user interface.

Re-enrollment within the Verify Workflow

Allows registrars to overwrite an existing facial enrollment directly within the Verify workflow when authentication fails, and the captured photo does not match the current enrollment. The Registrar Client user interface displays the original enrollment photo, requires ID confirmation, and clearly warns users before replacing the existing biometric.

Upgrade Patient Access to .NET 10

This update upgrades the Patient Access application framework to .NET 10 to ensure continued platform support, security updates, and long-term maintainability.
